“I don’t even know who I am anymore”

You have spent so many years taking care of others, adjusting and adapting to the demands of life, that you have lost touch with yourself.

For whatever reason, you struggle to embrace your authentic self: it’s too vulnerable, you fear the reactions of others, or maybe you don’t even know who that person is anymore. This uncertainty can start to seep into your relationships until you reach a point where you feel like you are on the outside looking in. Soon, it can feel like no one truly understands and that you are alone. Advocating for yourself--in your marriage, at work, or with friends--can feel nearly impossible when you think that you aren’t worth listening to.

It doesn’t have to stay this way

Let me help you remember who you truly are. Embodied in your confidence, your relationships can be healthier and your head can finally stop the endless barrage of self sabotaging thoughts. You are free to be yourself again.

Through the therapeutic relationship, we will explore the beliefs that hold you back. Once we shift from judgment to curiosity, we can explore the origins of these beliefs and practice techniques to end the habit of hiding and criticizing yourself. In a safe, accepting, and supportive environment we will evaluate if these critiques really belong to you. Chances are, it’s time to put them down.

Individual Therapy can help you:

  • Learn to trust yourself

  • Feel proud of who are

  • Connect more deeply with others and feel secure doing it

  • Embody your power

Common questions about Individual counseling

  • The duration of therapy is unique to each client. Length of treatment can be impacted by self awareness, insight, and comfort in the therapeutic setting. It is important to remember that this is an investment in yourself and does not need to happen on anyone else’s timeline. I encourage clients to commit to a minimum of six sessions to give themselves time to adjust to the process and overcome discomfort.

  • Weekly or bi-weekly is the most common. Some clients prefer weekly when experiencing acute distress and others like to space out sessions in order to give themselves time for reflection.

  • I believe wholeheartedly that the only measure that matters is your own. I will help you track your progress and remind you of your growth. If treatment has truly done its job, you will know within yourself when you no longer need this.
